While health and fitness is an important issue for everyone, we feel there is a severe lack of resources and information specific to the Black community, which suffers so disproportionately from a number of diseases and conditions. Many of these can be combated and prevented with lifestyle change. We created Black Fitness Today to serve as a niche website to provide relevant content and tools to achieve greater levels of health and fitness.
The Black Fitness Today “Commit to Fitness” Pledge represents a new generation of individuals who are re-defining attitudes and behaviors towards health and fitness in the African American community. It is a way for us to unite for a greater cause; we will not allow statistics to define us and future generations, but rather work to reverse them.
